Now that we are a super group, we admin have decided to celebrate with a contest!

While we are still working on a theme and date, we'd like to ask you, the members, for prizes.
Anything from llamas to features to points will all be accepted and appreciated.

What the Judge's Were Saying A very clever choice of drawing a rat who wants to to be cook just like a human, and a former human who's now cooking as a frog! Haha. Very, very clever choice of characters with a humorous picture!

What the Judge's Were Saying: The idea that Merlin is giving the Fairy Godmother magic counseling over tea is hilarious. Not to mention, what Merlin says is quite clever because you never think about the midnight thing being an issue in the movie.

We are proud to announce our next major contest! The theme, chosen by the poll, will be a Butterfly contest, for both photography and art.
So without further ado here are the rules and regulations, yadda, yadda....
What we are looking for:

What you feel is your best photograph or artwork of a butterfly. It can be any species of butterfly, even the ones that look like moths. As for actual moths since they are pretty much closely related (as far as I can tell) we can accept them too.

Hints: Try to submit something with vivid colors, an interesting composition, or something rare and unusual. This can apply to both photos and artwork.

I am OK with butterflies featured with other animals, i.e, a butterfly perched on a dog's nose or something of the lik

Hi all! So the polls have shown that the new theme will be active animals for the contest at #ArtisticAnimals!

I am very excited for this theme. I had a few more good suggestions for a theme, which all seemed to revolve around water, so that will probably be our next contest

Anyways, onto the current contest.
Theme:
Active Animals. I want to see works which have animals moving in an obvious way. Some examples would be jumping, running, flying, fighting, playing, etc.

New Contest!Greetings and Salutations fellow Disney lovers!

We hope your summer has gone well! Now that school is coming around, we figure it's time to try out another contest!
Theme: School! This means you can have a picture/story/cosplay/WHATEVER of at least one Disney female at school. Maybe she's a teacher, perhaps a student. Maybe she's at college in a fraternity, who knows!

Creativity will be rewarded!

Deadline: This contest will go from Sept. 1 till Sept. 30, 2012.
Rules:

As stated above, at least one Disney female must be in the picture.

In the deviation description, you must include a description of the scene you are displaying, the group's name, and the contest.

ANY medium is accepted.

Older pieces are allowed but they may be subjected to a lesser standing than new pieces.

Olympics contestHi everyone,
As we all now the London Olympics will be soon starting, so I was thinking how about we do a contest useing the Disney Princesses and Princes in a Disney Olympic team.
The Disney Olympic team are heading to the London Olympics, so what sport do you think the chararters play eg. Ariel swimming.
Rules are:
1)Has to be one of the Disney Princesses or Princes that are listed in our Rules and Guidelines
2)Submits can be art or fan fictions or cosplay.
3)Please put in the Contest Folder.
4)Please tell us what type of artwork it is eg. digital.
5)This contest is for members only to entry.
6)Contest will close on the 12th of August.
7)One submition per member please, just so it's fair.

Theme: The Big Cats- Close Encounters

It's a contest for Traditional and Digital Art only, no photography.

Close-ups of Big Cats are accepted, such as close-ups of the face, eyes or even full body image/partial body image that is close and takes up most if not all of the "canvas".

Only Big Cats - meaning cats that can roar. (Tigers, lions, jaguars, leopards, cougars and cheetahs)

Some Ideas
A fairytale character dreaming about a scene from their tale
A fairytale character dreaming about something they fear, something they wish for, something they anticipate, ect

… Or create a totally different idea!

Rules
As per usual, no art based off of a franchise (ie Disney, Once Upon A Time, Don Bluth...)
The art must be appropriate- if you are unsure about your piece please feel free to ask us, we are here to help (generally if you need to use the maturity filter for it we won't accept it)
It needs to be from a fairytale- sounds silly but a lot of people seem to forget this rule. (Just a reminder- Swan Lake/Princess is not considered a fairy tale)

Tuesday Treats: When Bugs Fly... i get dizzy watching the bugs ...
Well, spring is still here with us in the United States, and with it are some crazy bugs! The "june bugs" are already out in force at my home and caterpillars are falling out of the trees! I get dizzy watching for falling bugs! Find a deviation of bugs falling or flying and link it in a comment on this blog! One deviation per member please. The review process has changed somewhat - please read the JOIN THIS GROUP blog and MAKE A WISH blog (or the FAQ) to get up to speed on that. It is much more simplified now with less commenting and more noting the group for the sake of privacy, quality and tracking. For the most part, this will not affect current members with wishes listed, but it will affect all members without wishes listed and all current non-members.
We are working on overhauling the Pending wishlist - needs to be organized most horribly! Once we get that underway, we will be doing another wishlist archive, so the granted list

Well many know this about me by now, that I love to do surprises and give people a little bit of extra happiness to brighten their day.
Even the admin team is unaware of this contest.

So this mini-contest is going to be for the traditional and digital artists. We've had a lot of photography contests so this time it will be an ART ONLY contest, meaning no photographs this time. (And yes, photography IS art so I'm trying to be specific here.

)

The contest theme is : The Big Cats- Close Encounters

I have made a folder where those who wish to enter can put their entries. You do not have to have expert skill, this is a contest for all skill levels. But I am looking for close-ups such as the art being focused on the face or even the eyes of the animal, or a full body image/partial body image that is close and takes up most if not all of the "canvas". (I use this term loosely because digital art will also be accepted.)

Rules are pretty simple:

Make sure it is a big cat. The big cats are classified as all cats that can roar. Tigers, lions, jaguars, leopards, cougars and cheetahs are all part of the big cat family.

Make sure it is art, not a photo. This can include traditional, digital, or sketches, but please no photo-manipulations. Artworks drawn FROM a photo are fine. (Just be sure you had the photographer's permission to use their photo, I will be looking into that.)

Make sure the rules of the group are still followed. Do not have humans in your art, or animals behind cage bars, or any mature or vulgar content, dead animals, etc.

Those who enter MUST vote, or they will be disqualified. We ask you do not vote for yourself or solicit votes from others. A fair contest makes everyone happy.

This is a fairly short contest. It will run for 3 weeks, ending on August 9th . You may use something already in your gallery or draw something for the contest if you choose to, but please do not use something that is already in the group. (If you really want to use something already in the group I am OK with moving into the contest folder instead. Just note me. I merely don't want it to be in two places at once.) Put your entry into the folder labeled "Mini Contest- Big Cats Close Encounters. One entry per member.

There is only one winner. The prizes are given out by me using my own stash of points (not points from the group) but the cool thing is that if any of the admin want to chip in, they can go ahead and offer points or features. Therefore there is more of a surprise since you're not sure just how many prizes or features you will get.

400 points to winner, a 3 month premium membership, and a BIG feature on our front page. Please do try and have a lot of animal art/photography on your profile page if you enter this contest so that I can do a proper feature. I will showcase at LEAST ten of my favorite pics from your gallery, possibly more, all depending on your gallery size.

I hope you will enjoy this mini-contest and have a lot of fun doing it! I have tried to pick a popular theme that hopefully many of you can enter into. I know big cats are a favorite art subject of many, and we have a nice full gallery folder of such submissions.

The contest is exclusive to this group so the voting will be done by admin and members of this group only. We will need good participation in order to get good voting results.
