We are proud to announce our next major contest! The theme, chosen by the poll, will be a Butterfly contest, for both photography and art.
So without further ado here are the rules and regulations, yadda, yadda....
What we are looking for:
What you feel is your best photograph or artwork of a butterfly. It can be any species of butterfly, even the ones that look like moths. As for actual moths since they are pretty much closely related (as far as I can tell) we can accept them too. Hints: Try to submit something with vivid colors, an interesting composition, or something rare and unusual. This can apply to both photos and artwork. I am OK with butterflies featured with other animals, i.e, a butterfly perched on a dog's nose or something of the like. As long as the main focus of the art or photo is on the butterfly. (NO HUMANS.) You may ask us to move something already submitted to the group into the contest. Just let us know and we'll move it. All rules of the group must still be followed. Don't submit something other than a butterfly or moth. Do not submit pictures of butterflies/moths that are dead and on display. They must be alive. Don't use something that is not your own photograph or artwork. Do not submit blurry or grainy photos. We do not accept poor quality photographs and make rare exceptions. At voting time (which will be announced at end of contest) please do not solicit votes from others. Do not vote for yourself. We are only accepting one entry per deviant. You must be a member to participate.A folder will be created labeled "Butterfly Competition Contest". This is where you will submit. Only one entry will be permitted per member.
The contest will be open for a month, ending on 11/21. A timer will be set up on the front page reminding our members of the deadline.
The contest is NOT open to our admin, but they will be part of the votes, including myself.
Prizes: (This can change as we hear from our affiliates. More prizes might just be added as news of the contest spreads around.)

2nd place- 400 points and feature on our group's homepage
3rd place- 200 points and feature on our group's homepage
THREE RUNNER UPS (or Honorable Mentions) are included in this contest! Each HM will receive 10 points and a little feature on our group's homepage.
These points are being provided by me and are not part of the group's donation pool. The pool was depleted renewing our super group status, but believe me, I'm happy about that. :3
